What is a Credit Broker?
A credit broker links somebody looking for credit/finance with a company or individual willing to provide it, normally for a commission.

Do Elton Finance charge a fee?
No we do not charge our customers a fee for sourcing Finance. We may however be paid a commission by the lender to whom we have introduced customers too.

Who can apply for Finance?
You’ll need to be:

  • Aged 18 or over
  • Resident in the UK
  • Have a regular income

What can I borrow Money For?
You can borrow for almost any purpose

How long can I borrow the money for?
Usually up to 5 Years however certain lending can be agreed over a longer period, subject to conditions

How can I improve my credit score?
Each lender uses their on criteria however all will generally look at having a good credit history, paying bills on time, not missing payments, not applying for credit regularly. Other factors may also include things such as being on the electoral roll, owning your home or being at the same address for over a year and being in the same job for a long time.

Can I cancel a credit agreement?
You are given a 14 day 'Right to Withdraw' from any regulated Hire Purchase, Connected Loan Agreement or Personal Loan Agreement. Once you exercise your right to withdraw this cannot be reversed and you will be given 30 days to repay the balance including interest at a daily rate. This information will be contained within the agreement. This also applies to Conditional Sale Agreements. Withdrawing from the agreement does not allow you to withdraw from the purchase of the goods or services.

What Is a SECCI?
SECCI stands for Standard European Consumer Credit Information and is the information that replaces the old Pre-Contract Information sheet. The details in the SECCI have been prescribed by the Directive and has been designed to give a clear overview of the main points of the agreement.
